Portmarnock is a popular seaside village in County Dublin (Fingal), Ireland, situated just to the north of Dublin City, between Malahide and Howth.
Among the attractions of Portmarnock is the beautiful, long, sandy beach known both as Portmarnock Beach, and more poetically as The Velvet Strand.
Portmarnock is also world renowned for golf. Portmarnock Golf Club has played host to some of the world's greatest golfers during the irish Open and other tournaments. Portmarnock Hotel and Golf Links also offers superb golf, in a wonderful coastal setting.
Portmarnock's vicinity to both the city of Dublin and Dublin Airport, combined with its scenic location on the Irish Sea, make it a very popular base for visitors to Ireland.
