Portmarnock beach wins Blue Flag for good water quality

Portmarnock beach again won a Blue Flag for good water quality for the status of the bathing water at Portmarnock in 2009. The report "The Quality of Bathing Water in Ireland" recently published by the Environmental Protection Agency stated that the water quality at Portmarnock beach (also known as the Velvet Strand) met EU guide and mandatory values in 2009.
